Build a Bridge: The French King Bridge

Starting today, Build a Bridge is officially becoming a regular series around here. If you're just joining this little party, please see my first Build a Bridge post here. I thought I'd follow that up with another structure you'll find along the Mohawk Trail in Massachusetts: The French King Bridge.

Follow Friday: Everplaces

I came across this article yesterday, which labeled Everplaces as "a new app that essentially functions as a Pinterest for the real world." Of course I had to check it out. So far, I'm pretty impressed. My first thought was that this could replace all check-in apps, review apps, my Pinterest travel board, etc., but I don't think Everplaces is quite there. YET.

Day Tripping: Gone Coastal

My friends and I had big plans for a day trip to Muir Woods to hike part of the Dipsea Trail last weekend. Well, that didn't happen. April, Jenna and I had a nice leisurely breakfast at Parkside Cafe in Stinson Beach (which was great, by the way) and ended up getting a pretty late start. The parking lots at Muir Woods were completely packed.

Build a Bridge: Bridge of Flowers

It's no secret that I'm a bridge nerd. I just love 'em. I can't help it. They're works of art, in my mind, and so darn functional. Project Yosemite...and Then Some

Every time we go on trips to places like Yosemite, Yellowstone or the The Tetons, I always find myself wanting more. We have pictures from our trips to remind us just how lucky we are to have experienced such beautiful places and they always, ALWAYS make me want to return. Then I come across Project Yosemite. These guys have created one of the most amazing time-lapse videos of Yosemite. In under four minutes, their video actually made me want to move there.

San Francisco: Day 2

As I mentioned in my last post, I spent last weekend visiting family in San Francisco. We had a wonderful time exploring Alcatraz on Friday, but when I woke up early to a beautiful city view on Saturday, it was tough to go back to sleep.

A Little More Montana

Just to get you up to speed: I posted yesterday about flying to Montana to surprise my girl, Jamie for her birthday over NYE weekend. Once we recovered from a little too much fun, we headed into downtown Missoula for some shopping. This was my third trip to Missoula and, though I love California, I always feel really comfortable there. Missoula is home to the University of Montana and it's definitely a college town. It's sort of like a downtown Davis/Berkeley mash-up with fewer people and large side of rugged thrown in for good measure. I dig it.

Yosemite Weekend

Aaahhh, Yosemite. Breathtaking. Stunning. Magnificent. When talking to my husband about what I wanted to do for my birthday this year, a trip was the first thing that came to mind. He had been to Yosemite once at a very young age and didn't remember the trip at all. I visited Yosemite for the first time almost ten years ago and hadn't been back. Just look at what we had been missing...
