Who Loves Art? I Do!

It's true. I love appreciating it, having it in my home and just being around it.Like this sweet little water-color from Two Shoes Studio in Davis:

I was lucky enough to get this piece through a blog post she did several months ago, but I've purchased her work before at Indie Davis. Lovely, no?

And there's this beauty:

I had my eye on the Bloom Wall Clock by Schmitt Design for over a year before I finally brought one home. I stare at it long after it has given me the time....let me tell ya.

This oil painting titled Vermont Village hangs in my hallway:

My Nana painted it in 1983. She had a huge collection of her own work displayed throughout her home. Now it lives in our home and it makes me smile every time I walk by.

The Sacramento region is full of talented people and I truly enjoy being a part of a community that supports the arts.

Speaking of...here are a few things coming up tonight that I'm hoping to check out:

ArtBike!

ArtBike! kicks off tonight with an Art of the Bicycle show at Milk Gallery. The show, which opens tonight (sounds like they're having an even bigger party during their 2nd Saturday reception), features bicycle-related works by over a dozen artists. You can find more details on the Facebook event page here. Be sure to check out all of the other ArtBike! happenings around town right here.

Sac365 Featured Local Artist Exhibit

If you're not familiar with Sacramento365.com, go ahead and get acquainted. No really. Go. I'll wait....

Great, huh? The site lists pretty much everything going on in Sacramento. From live shows to exhibits to major events...they do everything in their power to have all the information you need in one place. They also feature local artists every month and tonight Sacramento365 is hosting a preview show to highlight their featured artists at The Urban Hive. They're also hosting a huge 2nd Saturday reception. You can find out more about the preview and reception events here.

So what's everyone else up to tonight?
